Blue Fern Dress - 3rd June 2017

Today I am embarking on a new pattern for a summer dress. I am taking the ‘try it an see’ approach and letting the spirit guide me as I make. So far I have pinned some tucks into the skirt and top sections to get the shape right. I am now working on the best way to keep this shape and join the pieces without adding too much structure; I want this to be a light, airy, comfortable summer dress so I am thinking elasticated waist? 

I am also adding pockets - nothing pleases me more about a dress than discovering there are pockets! Small pleasures but it’s the little things that count. 

I do love the fabric, it’s definitely in keeping with my current floral / botanical obsession.
